Claire Balintfy, Troy Union

Grace Bellanger, Hamilton Elementary

Mary Claire Germilhac, Leonard Elementary

Helena Halucha, Costello Elementary   **GRAND PRIZE WINNER

Alexandra Link, Barnard Elementary

Adelia Lombardi, Wass Elementary

Georgia Mckee, Barnard Elementary

Julia Miller, Martell Elementary

Nina Slaviero, Schroeder Elementary

Baylie Tull, Wass Elementary

Erin Xia, Morse Elementary

Rachel Zhai, Bemis Elementary

Each of the students did fantastic and we were so impressed with their recipes that they created!

A special congratulation goes to Costello Elementary for the grand prize winner, Helena Halucha, for her recipe, “Breakfast Sundae”.

This is Helena’s 2nd year as the Troy School District Future Chef Champion!

Helena received a grand prize gift basket full of prizes such as cooking gadgets, chef coat/hat, a FitBit and more.

223 recipes from competitions around the country, including Helena’s will be submitted to Sodexo for a chance to move forward to the next round of the competition.  The top 40 will be chosen as regional finalists and those students will be receiving an Ipad mini prize package valued at $450. From there 5 semi-finalists will be chosen and will prepare youtube videos to compete in a public voting process to determine the national winner.  These 5 finalists will receive a GoPro prize package valued at $500.  The National winner will receive a celebratory event at their school where they will receive prizes altogether valued at $1,500.

We wish Helena the best of luck as she moves forward in this National competition!

Attached is a copy of her winning recipe and a few pictures from the event (see images to the right --> ).
